Welcome
to the DRIVE Volunteer Zone
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at a DRIVE
Off Road Race! This may be the first time you have been
interested in volunteering, or you are an experienced volunteer
or pit crew member…whichever it is…DRIVE and the racers
need you! No former experience is required! Due to the
nature of our sport, desert racing promoters rely heavily
on volunteers to help make the races happen. Strong volunteer
turnout ensures that desert races are executed efficiently
and safely.
DRIVE volunteer coordinators spend time before
the race to make sure that all required volunteer positions
are filled. Prior to the race, the coordinators and “bosses”
train the volunteers how to perform each task safely and
efficiently. Volunteering is a ton-of-fun, and is the
best way to watch a race. At the end of the day you know
you played an important part in the desert racing community.
The
volunteer network is a “tight group” of giving people, which
will become your desert-friends for life. Becoming a DRIVE
volunteer is also a great way to “get to know” the racers and
the entire desert racing community. Many racers began by volunteering
at local desert races. So if you would be interested in volunteering,
please use the registration feature on this page, and you will
be contacted soon with more information about upcoming races.
VOLUNTEER SPONSORS: If
you are in the Desert Racing/Off-Road Industry, and would
like to sponsor the DRIVE volunteers for an upcoming race,
please see the “CONTINGENCY”
section of the site. In the CONTINGENCY section, we have some
ideas of how you can give back to the volunteers…the ones that
make the races happen! Please help our volunteers…they help
you!
Thank you,
Brian Groff DRIVE
